Funnel Operations

A funnel migration is a systems project, not a page-copying project.

A page can look identical after migration while forms, tracking, automations, payment flows or customer access are broken. Inventory the full system before rebuilding anything.

Create an inventory

  • Public pages and URLs.
  • Custom domains and DNS records.
  • Forms and field mappings.
  • Email sequences and automation rules.
  • Checkout products, prices and billing behavior.
  • Order bumps, upsells and post-purchase steps.
  • CRM integrations and webhooks.
  • Analytics, pixels and campaign tracking.
  • Course, membership or customer-access paths.

Decide what should not migrate

A platform change is a useful time to remove obsolete pages, duplicate automations, stale tags and unused integrations. Preserve business-critical history and compliance records, but do not blindly recreate years of clutter.

Map URLs and redirects

Where public URLs change, create appropriate redirects so search visitors, bookmarks and external links do not land on missing pages. Keep important canonical URLs stable when practical. Update the sitemap and links between your pages after the move.

Rebuild transactions carefully

Products, payment plans, taxes, coupons, recurring billing and cancellation behavior deserve dedicated testing. Do not assume a new checkout interprets pricing rules the same way as the previous system.

Validate tracking and CRM handoffs

Run test leads and test purchases through the entire path. Verify that campaign parameters, contact fields, lifecycle updates, notifications and downstream automations still work.

Use a launch checklist

  • Test desktop and mobile.
  • Check SSL and custom domains.
  • Submit every important form.
  • Complete a test checkout where practical.
  • Verify transactional emails.
  • Inspect analytics events.
  • Check redirects and 404 behavior.
  • Monitor support and error logs after launch.

Keep a rollback path

For important revenue funnels, preserve the old configuration long enough to diagnose migration issues when practical. Document DNS and routing changes so they can be reversed if a critical failure appears.

Frequently asked questions

Should I change every URL during migration?

No. Preserve valuable public URLs where practical. If a URL must change, use an appropriate redirect.

What should I test first?

Forms, checkout, transactional email, access delivery, CRM handoff and analytics events.

Can migration improve the funnel?

Yes, but separate intentional optimization from migration defects so you can diagnose problems clearly.
