Copy should help the right visitor decide whether to continue. Clarity beats inflated language when the offer, audience and proof are strong enough to stand on their own.

Start with the visitor's current question

A visitor reading a beginner guide needs different language from someone comparing two named products. Match the headline and opening to the level of awareness that brought the person to the page.

Explain the mechanism

Describe how the product, service or process works in concrete terms. Mechanism-focused copy can reduce skepticism because the reader can understand the connection between the problem and the proposed solution.

Separate benefits from claims

A benefit explains why a feature matters. A claim states or implies a factual outcome. Claims about income, performance, health, savings, user counts or results need appropriate support. Do not repeat a provider's marketing statement as an independent fact without evidence.

Use proof responsibly

  • Use real product facts from reliable sources.
  • Use testimonials only when authentic and permitted.
  • State case-study context instead of implying universal results.
  • Avoid fake review counts and invented statistics.
  • Do not claim personal experience you do not have.

Answer real objections

Price, implementation effort, compatibility, migration, time and fit are often more useful objections to address than dramatic rhetorical questions. Explain tradeoffs instead of pretending the offer has none.

Write the CTA as the next action

A CTA should say what happens next: see current offer, compare pricing, start a trial, request a demo, book a call or read the full review. Avoid buttons that conceal a commercial destination.

Edit for compression

Remove sections that repeat the same idea, unsupported adjectives, unnecessary setup and generic filler. Long copy earns its length by resolving real uncertainty.

Frequently asked questions

How long should funnel copy be?

As long as needed to explain the decision and no longer. Complexity, price and audience awareness influence length.

Can AI write funnel copy?

It can help draft and reorganize copy, but factual claims, evidence, brand voice and compliance still require human review.

What makes a strong CTA?

It clearly states or strongly implies the next action and matches the visitor's current decision stage.
